Attacks against UNFICYP members are unacceptable, Greek Prime Minister says

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in a telephone conversation he held today, Friday, August 18, with the President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides, condemned the attacks by Turkish Cypriots against members of UNFICYP in Pyla and described them as unacceptable.

The Greek Prime Minister strongly condemned the attacks saying that such incidents are unacceptable. At the same time, the two sides confirmed their full coordination in order to take the necessary actions at the international level.

"The Prime Minister expressed his strong disapproval of the unacceptable attacks by Turkish Cypriots against members of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) in the Pyla area," the Greek Prime Minister's Press Office said.

"Greece and Cyprus are fully coordinated to take appropriate action at the international level," the Press Office concludes.
