Riyadh:Saudi Arabia: Three people were killed and 36 others injured in attacks on Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, according to the kingdom's General Authority of Civil Aviation.
According to Anadolu Agency, the attacks occurred on Tuesday and Wednesday, prompting emergency responses and involvement from relevant authorities.
At Abha International Airport, two residents—a Moroccan and an Algerian—lost their lives, and 28 people were injured. The injured included two Saudi citizens and residents from Bangladesh and the Philippines, with injuries varying from minor to serious.
The attack on King Khalid International Airport resulted in the death of a Sudanese national and injuries to eight individuals, including five Saudis, two Egyptians, and one Pakistani. All injured were promptly transported to hospitals for treatment.
The General Authority of Civil Aviation reported that the attacks also caused material damage and stated that coordination with security agencies is ongoing to assess the damage and secure the safety of passengers and airport employees.
Yemen's Houthis claimed responsibility for the attacks, with military spokesman Yahya Saree stating that the group targeted King Khalid International Airport using drones and attacked Abha International Airport with ballistic missiles and drones.
These incidents are part of an ongoing conflict between the Houthis and the Saudi-led coalition, which has been supporting Yemen's internationally recognized government since March 2015.
