Austria Expels Four Russian Diplomats Over Security Concerns

Vienna:Austria's Foreign Ministry announced the expulsion of four Russian diplomats on Friday, citing security concerns. This decision was reported by broadcaster ORF.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, three of the expelled diplomats were associated with the Russian Embassy in Vienna, while the fourth was part of Russia's delegation to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

The Austrian Foreign Ministry stated that the diplomats were involved in activities that were incompatible with their diplomatic status, leading to their designation as 'persona non grata' and subsequent expulsion from the country. The ministry noted that these actions were guided by security authority findings but did not disclose further specifics regarding the expulsions.

In response to this development, Russian Deputy Foreign Ministry Dmitry Lyubinsky informed the state news agency Tass that Moscow plans to "inevitably" respond to the expulsion of its diplomats.
