Ankara:At least 10 people, including climbers and support staff, are missing following an avalanche on the 7,126-meter Himlung Himal peak in Nepal's western Manang district.

According to Anadolu Agency, Ram Krishna Lamichhane, director general of the Department of Tourism, confirmed the incident and stated that officials are gathering more information as they work on locating and rescuing those unaccounted for.

The avalanche occurred amid ongoing rains and snowfall in the western mountainous region. Meanwhile, a separate landslide in Palpa district killed at least one person and left two others missing.

In another incident, the Kaligandaki River in Parbat district flooded a settlement, resulting in the destruction of approximately 80 houses. Last month, Nepal experienced severe flash floods, which resulted in over 1,350 deaths and left more than 5,000 people missing.
