Aysu Türkoglu, a 22-year-old Turkish swimmer, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first Turkish woman to successfully swim across the formidable North Channel.
Covering a distance of nearly 40 kilometers, Türkoglu embarked on her journey from Northern Ireland to Scotland, completing the demanding North Channel swim in a commendable time of 11 hours, 48 minutes, and 19 seconds.
In 2022, Türkoglu made waves by becoming the youngest Turkish swimmer to swim across the English Channel, an accomplishment that required her to endure 16 hours and 28 minutes of swimming.
Türkoglu's North Channel swim commenced at 04.45 a.m. GMT from Bangor, Northern Ireland, where she was accompanied by dolphins along parts of her journey. (VK)
