Doha: Azerbaijan Presidential Advisor Hikmet Hajiyev and Secretary of the Armenian Security Council Armen Grigoryan discussed the ongoing peace process between their nations during a session at the 23rd Doha Forum. The panel, titled "Armenia-Azerbaijan Lasting Peace: The Washington Agreement and a Joint Future," provided a platform for dialogue on the future relations of the two countries.

According to Anadolu Agency - English, the discussions focused on the implementation of the Washington arrangements, emphasizing the economic benefits of peace, connectivity, and confidence-building measures. Hajiyev expressed Azerbaijan's commitment to transforming the South Caucasus into a zone of sustainable peace and prosperity.

Reports from the Armenian press highlighted Grigoryan's comments on strengthening trust between the governments and societies of Armenia and Azerbaijan. He noted that recent interactions have established a certain level of confidence between the leaders and their teams.

Grigoryan also discussed the potential of the International Route for Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), also known as the Zangezur Corridor. He mentioned that the project could offer new business opportunities for Armenia by facilitating the movement of goods and services, thereby lowering costs and attracting investment.

During the Washington summit, leaders from Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the United States signed a document referring to this route as TRIPP. Grigoryan expressed confidence in the opportunities TRIPP could bring not only to the region but also to businesses and countries beyond.

He pointed out early positive developments, such as Azerbaijan's decision to lift its transit embargo on Armenian products and Armenia's willingness to provide transit for Azerbaijan. Grigoryan concluded by stating that reopening transport links would help reduce prices for the public and support broader economic growth.
