Baku: Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan engaged in a phone conversation to address regional issues and multilateral engagements.
According to Anadolu Agency, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported that both diplomats expressed satisfaction with the positive progress in the ongoing normalization process between the two countries. This marks the second discussion between the foreign ministers this month.
Earlier on March 5, Bayramov and Mirzoyan had a conversation regarding a recent drone attack on Nakhchivan, which resulted in damage to civilian infrastructure and injuries to civilians. The attack underscored the challenges faced in the region despite efforts towards peace.
In August 2025, Azerbaijan and Armenia, as Southern Caucasus neighbors, signed a joint declaration during a trilateral summit at the White House with US President Donald Trump. The agreement aimed to end decades of conflict, committing both nations to cease hostilities, reopen transport routes, and work towards normalizing relations.
