Baku: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with Slovak Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Robert Kalinak to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation, focusing on military and defense industries, as well as Slovakia's support for strengthening Azerbaijan's relations with the EU and NATO, the presidency announced. The discussions also included an exchange of views on the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

According to Anadolu Agency, Aliyev highlighted the historical significance of documents signed in Washington with the involvement of US President Donald Trump, describing these agreements as crucial for promoting lasting peace in the region. Kalinak congratulated Azerbaijan on the fifth anniversary of its victory in the Patriotic War and conveyed greetings from Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. He also expressed gratitude for the invitation to attend the anniversary military parade in Baku.

Aliyev expressed his appreciation to Kalinak for the greetings and requested that his best wishes be conveyed to the Slovak premier. He praised the Slovak delegation's participation in the anniversary celebrations, emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration between the two nations.
