Baku: Azerbaijan and Trkiye are set to take steps to enhance their cooperation in the field of green energy, as announced by the Azerbaijani energy minister during the UN climate change conference COP29, currently being held in Baku. According to Anadolu Agency, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov highlighted that Azerbaijan has introduced significant energy initiative pledges at the conference, which runs until November 22. These pledges include the Global Energy Storage and Grids Pledge, the Green Energy Pledge focusing on Green Energy Zones and Corridors, and the Hydrogen Declaration. Shahbazov noted that such projects are already underway between Azerbaijan and Trkiye. He emphasized the importance of increasing energy storage and strengthening electricity grid networks in combating climate change, alongside setting international standards and certifications for hydrogen. The energy initiative pledges are vital for achieving Azerbaijan's goals of tripling renewable energy capacity and doubling energy efficiency, as decided during the COP28 conference in Dubai last year, Shahbazov stated. He further added that Azerbaijan cooperates with Trkiye in green energy more than with any other country and plans to further develop this cooperation in the future.
