Baku: Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov met with a delegation led by Baykar Chairman Selcuk Bayraktar to discuss expanding defense cooperation and joint production between Azerbaijan and Trkiye.
According to Anadolu Agency, an Azerbaijani Defense Ministry statement on Friday indicated that Hasanov emphasized the successful development of relations between the two "fraternal countries" in the military sphere, as well as cooperation in other fields. The focus was placed on enhancing joint production capabilities through advanced technological innovations, highlighting Baykar's significant contribution to Trkiye's defense industry.
Bayraktar expressed gratitude to Azerbaijani officials for their hospitality, noting that reciprocal visits play a crucial role in deepening military and military-technical cooperation between the two nations. Trkiye's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Birol Akgun, also attended the meeting.
The parties engaged in detailed discussions on various aspects of defense technology, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), electronic warfare, and unmanned systems, along with other issues of mutual interest, the ministry added.
