Abu dhabi: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi, signing a comprehensive economic agreement aimed at enhancing bilateral ties. The meeting focused on deepening cooperation between the two nations, reflecting a robust strategic partnership.

According to Anadolu Agency, the presidents underscored the importance of Azerbaijan-UAE relations, which they characterized as being founded on 'friendship and brotherhood.' The discussions highlighted strong political alignment and expanding trade cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, both leaders expressed satisfaction with their reciprocal visits earlier in the year, describing the high-level talks as productive across multiple sectors. The discussions emphasized successful collaboration in energy, especially renewable energy, with joint projects involving Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR, the UAE's ADNOC, and renewable energy firm Masdar.

The leaders also acknowledged the UAE's significant involvement in the Economic Cooperation Organization Summit held in Khankendi, noting its symbolic importance. The discussions culminated in the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement in the presence of both presidents.

At the conclusion of the meeting, President Aliyev presented a commemorative gift to President Al Nahyan, marking the occasion.
