Ankara: Azerbaijan's parliament has ratified a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at bolstering mutual military security with Trkiye, officially endorsing a defense pact initially signed by the defense ministries of the two nations earlier this year. The legislative body, known as the Milli Majlis, adopted the decision consistent with Article 95 of the Constitution of Azerbaijan, as stated by the presidency in a formal announcement following the vote.

According to Anadolu Agency, the memorandum was signed in Istanbul on July 22, 2025, and outlines a framework for collaboration between Azerbaijan and Trkiye, with the primary objective of enhancing joint military security. The legislative approval provides the agreement with legal authority under Azerbaijan's national law, facilitating the execution of its stipulations through structured institutional cooperation mechanisms, as highlighted by the lawmakers.
