ANKARA: World No. 2 women's tennis player Aryna Sabalenka qualified for Round 3 of the 2024 US Open on Wednesday. Belarus' Sabalenka, the 2023 US Open finalist, beat No. 76 ranked Lucia Bronzetti from Italy 6-3, 6-1 at Louis Armstrong Stadium in New York City. In the other women's Round 2 match, China's Qinwen Zheng, an Olympic gold medalist at the Paris 2024 Games, eliminated Russia's Erika Andreeva 6-7 (3-7), 6-1, 6-2 at Grandstand. In Round 2 of men's singles, world No. 4 Alexander Zverev of Germany beat wild card Alexandre Muller from France 6-4, 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 to reach the next stage.
