Doganay Güzelgün, one of the bicyclists riding on the Kadiköy-Bostanci coastal road in a group this morning, was hit by an automobile. Güzelgün lost his life while the driver of the car escaped the spot on foot. An unidentified driver using the automobile with license plate 34 GNE 745 hit Doganay Güzelgün, who was one of the bicyclists riding as a group on the Kadiköy-Bostanci coastal road early in the morning.

Güzelgün was heavily injured after the clash and he lost his life in the hospital he was taken to. He was 51 years old.

The driver who hit him escaped on foot. Someone else who came to the spot and claimed responsibility for the crash was taken into custody.

However the friends of the bicyclist, said that the person using the vehicle that hit Güzelgün, and the person who was taken into custody was not the same person. They also informed the police that there were materials inside the vehicle used for consumption of drugs. "This is not a simple traffic accident but a murder," they said.

Güzelgün's friends later went to the Bostanci Police Station, where they keep waiting at the moment.
