Ankara:During a discussion on NBC News' 'Meet the Press,' Bill Gates expressed that securing a global agreement on artificial intelligence presents a greater challenge than the Cold War-era nuclear negotiations.

According to Anadolu Agency, Gates addressed US President Donald Trump's opposition to AI regulation, noting that Trump has declined to impose federal restrictions on companies developing AI models.

Gates argued that implementing monitoring systems would not hinder the US in its technological competition with China. He suggested that after further discussions, including input from himself and others, consensus on AI regulation might be reached.

Gates also referenced historical instances where the US led efforts to form international agreements on various global issues, such as aviation safety and nuclear weapons, emphasizing the importance of collective action for AI.
