Suwayda: Syria's Health Ministry reported on Wednesday that dozens of civilians and security personnel were discovered deceased inside the Suwayda National Hospital following the withdrawal of armed groups described as 'outlaws' from the premises.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Health Ministry released a statement indicating that an examination of the bodies confirmed they belonged to security forces and civilians who were inside the hospital. The Defense Ministry had previously noted that 'armed outlaw groups' had occupied strategic positions within the hospital, including deploying snipers on rooftops to target army forces.

Health Minister Musab al-Ali informed the state-run SANA news agency that Israeli aircraft are obstructing a medical convoy dispatched by the ministry from accessing Suwayda. He mentioned that airstrikes are targeting any moving vehicles, preventing the convoy, which consists of 15 ambulances with medical teams, 10 surgeons from different specialties, and two trucks loaded with medications and medical supplies, from reaching its destination.

The Interior Ministry confirmed the establishment of a new ceasefire agreement in Suwayda on Wednesday, aimed at fully reintegrating the province under central government control, as reported by SANA. This development comes amidst ongoing Israeli airstrikes targeting Damascus, Suwayda, and Daraa in southwestern Syria. The Israeli military claims these operations are intended to safeguard the Druze minority in the region.

Tensions have escalated in Suwayda, with clashes erupting between armed Druze militias and Bedouin groups after reports emerged of vehicle seizures by both factions. The Interior Ministry reported that the violence has resulted in over 30 fatalities and nearly 100 injuries.
