According to Anadolu Agency, BRICS+ is not intended as an anti-Western entity but rather as a post-Western evolution beyond past hierarchies. This shift is causing discomfort among those who have long associated order with domination. The emergence of BRICS+ suggests a more pluralistic world that challenges the core assumptions of the post-war international order. The bloc's commitment to a multipolar world is its founding principle, uniting diverse regions and cultures to reflect a heterogeneous global reality.

BRICS+ is not merely a platform for Chinese power projection but a collective effort to create a multilateral, non-hierarchical international order. China's involvement is strategic, but not hegemonic, aiming to redesign the global system to better align with 21st-century realities. BRICS+ countries account for over 40% of the global population and nearly 32% of global GDP. The bloc is projected to contribute significantly to global economic growth in the coming years, surpassing the G7's share of global GDP.

For BRICS+ to fulfill its potential, it must prioritize expanding trade, technological cooperation, and financial connectivity within its membership. Currently, intra-BRICS+ trade is underdeveloped, constituting only around 6% of total trade volumes. Addressing this and fostering mutual knowledge among member nations is crucial. Proposals like the Gandhi-Yatsen Programme aim to promote academic and cultural exchanges, building deeper understanding and trust.

BRICS+ also faces narrative challenges, often dismissed as incoherent or lacking ambition. However, the skepticism is driven by external anxieties about its potential. The bloc's most significant test will be strategic, redefining debate terms and establishing its success standards. As the liberal international order grapples with inconsistencies, BRICS+ offers an honest compact based on mutuality and cooperation, presenting a new path forward for global governance.
