Anseong: At least four people were killed and six others injured when a bridge collapsed in South Korea on Tuesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the bridge collapsed at an expressway construction site in Anseong, located approximately 65 kilometers (40 miles) south of Seoul. The incident occurred on a section of the route connecting the capital with the city of Sejong.

At least 10 individuals were trapped under several slabs that had been placed on a pier before they fell to the ground. The emergency response involved a significant rescue operation to free those caught under the debris.

Acting President Choi Sang-mok issued emergency instructions, calling for the deployment of all available resources and personnel to aid in the rescue efforts. The authorities are investigating the cause of the collapse to prevent future incidents.
