British National Arrested in Connection with RAF Fairford Terrorism Probe

London:A 22-year-old British national has been arrested by UK counter-terrorism police on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts linked to an incident near RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire.

According to Anadolu Agency, the arrest was made in Westminster, London, as part of an ongoing investigation into a suspected plot involving the Royal Air Force base. This follows the initial detention of five British men on September 27, after police observed three suspicious vans near the base, prompting a counter-terrorism investigation.

A sixth individual was apprehended on October 1, and the latest arrest brings the total to seven in connection with the investigation. The six previously arrested men have been released on bail, according to police.

Vicki Evans, senior national coordinator for Counter Terrorism Policing, stated that the investigation "remains live," with officers exploring "multiple lines of enquiry." No further details about the alleged preparations or the incident that initiated the inquiry have been disclosed. Authorities confirmed that inquiries are still ongoing.
