Lahore: At least 11 members of the same family were killed and six injured late Wednesday after a three-story building collapsed in Pakistan's northeastern city of Lahore, authorities said.

According to Anadolu Agency, Lahore Deputy Commissioner spokesperson Harris Ali stated that rescue operations were still underway Thursday afternoon, with a minor girl believed to be trapped under the rubble, as reported by local daily Dawn. "The building collapsed floor by floor from the top down," he added.

The cause of the collapse is still unknown, and an investigation has been ordered to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Rescue 1122 teams, along with district administration officials, are actively working to clear the debris, with heavy machinery deployed to expedite the operation.
