Kiryat shmona: Search operations continued for people trapped inside a house damaged in the settlement of Kiryat Shmona in northern Israel on Wednesday following rocket fire from Lebanon, local media said.

According to Anadolu Agency, the house was hit by a rocket launched by Hezbollah from southern Lebanon. The national emergency agency MDA reported that no injuries were noted in the attack. Channel 12 disclosed that incoming missile sirens were activated in various areas in northern and central Israel after a barrage of rockets and drones were launched from Lebanon.

The channel further reported that 11 rockets were launched from Lebanon targeting the settlements of Kiryat Shmona, Metula, Kiryat Yuval, and Manara in northern Israel, as well as the Sharon region in central Israel. The public broadcaster KAN aired footage of what it described as aerial interceptions over northern Israel.

The Israeli army has intensified its airstrikes across Lebanon in recent days amid ongoing cross-border attacks with Hezbollah, despite a ceasefire agreement that has been in place since November 2024. According to Lebanese authorities, at least 968 people have been killed and 2,432 injured in Israeli strikes across Lebanon since March 2.

The current escalation followed a joint US-Israeli offensive on Iran, which has resulted in approximately 1,300 deaths since February 28. Tehran has responded with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries, which it accuses of targeting 'US military assets.'
