Gaza city: At least 25 people were killed and several others injured in Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip on Thursday, medical sources told Anadolu.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli army targeted a residential apartment for a Palestinian family in northern Gaza City, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to others. The attack also ignited a fire at the location.

In a separate incident, five people lost their lives when the Israeli army shelled tents housing displaced Palestinians in Deir al-Balah, located in the central Gaza Strip. Additionally, army forces shelled civilians who were waiting for aid delivery near a distribution point on Salah al-Din Street in central Gaza, killing 12 people and injuring 60 others, as stated by Al-Awda Hospital.

Further reports indicate that Israeli drone strikes in the Al-Mawasi area of southern Khan Younis city resulted in the deaths of five civilians, four of whom were children, and left more than 15 others injured.

The Israeli army has continued its offensive on Gaza since October 7, 2023, despite international calls for a ceasefire. This ongoing campaign has claimed the lives of over 60,100 Palestinians, causing widespread devastation and food shortages in the enclave.

On Monday, Israeli rights groups B'Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza, highlighting the systematic destruction of Palestinian society and the deliberate dismantling of the territory's health care system.

In a related development, last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice regarding its actions in the enclave.
