Ankara: Despite ongoing efforts, wars and oppression continue to plague the region, with innocent children often paying the highest price, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Thursday.
According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan made these remarks during the TRT's 48th International April 23 Children's Festival Gala Program in Ankara. He emphasized that children are frequently the most affected victims in conflicts and wars. Erdogan asserted that living in a world free from war, violence, deprivation, and poverty is a fundamental right of all children.
Trkiye is actively working to end conflicts and alleviate the suffering of children, aiming to provide a life of peace, security, and brotherhood for all children, he added. Erdogan extended his well-wishes for a peaceful and happy life to children in Trkiye, across the heartland, and worldwide. He specifically mentioned Palestinian and Lebanese children who endure the burdens of war and conflict.
Erdogan further highlighted the importance of quality education and a fear-free environment for children, urging young people to keep those in hardship, particularly in Gaza and Lebanon, in their thoughts and prayers. He described children as cultural and humanitarian ambassadors who will shape the future and improve the world despite ongoing challenges.
Erdogan concluded by reminding everyone of the universal language of love, friendship, brotherhood, and solidarity, encouraging unity and peace among all children, regardless of language or background.
