Ankara: Trkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed a hopeful vision for the future, asserting that children will transform the world into a better place despite the prevailing 'evil and wrongdoing.' Erdogan's remarks came during his address at TRT's 47th International Children's Festival, an event held in honor of April 23, which marks National Sovereignty and Children's Day.
According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan conveyed his congratulations to children in Trkiye and around the globe, while paying tribute to Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the nation's founding father, who dedicated this holiday to the youth. He also acknowledged the contributions of statesmen, martyrs, and veterans in his speech.
The president highlighted that over 130,000 children from 120 countries have been welcomed to Trkiye for these celebrations. He expressed his hope that the happiness experienced by the children on this day would persist throughout their lives. Erdogan emphasized that the dreams and efforts of the current generation would ultimately be realized by the children of today.
