Beijing: China on Thursday stated that "protectionism harms all and is ultimately unpopular," responding to the US Court of International Trade's decision to block US President Donald Trump's tariffs.

According to Anadolu Agency, the US Court of International Trade ruled on Wednesday that President Trump exceeded his authority by imposing extensive global tariffs on imports. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning remarked on the situation at a news conference in Beijing, emphasizing that "tariff wars and trade wars have no winners."

Separately, at another news conference, China's Commerce Ministry spokeswoman He Yongqian addressed the ruling, asserting that the US tariffs have not resolved any domestic issues and have significantly disrupted the international economic and trade order. She noted that these tariffs have hindered business operations and daily life, ultimately harming all parties involved without yielding benefits to the US itself.

He Yongqian further urged the US to listen to the rational voices from the international community and domestic parties, advocating for the complete abolition of the unilateral tariffs.
