Beijing: China has announced its engagement with multiple parties in the Middle East, emphasizing that war cannot resolve disputes. The Chinese government has expressed grave concern over the escalating tensions in the region, according to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning.

According to Anadolu Agency, Mao revealed that Foreign Minister Wang Yi has been actively communicating with his counterparts from Russia, Iran, Oman, France, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. These discussions aimed to exchange views on the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East. Wang underscored the need for an immediate cessation of military operations, urging all parties to return to dialogue and negotiations.

Mao highlighted that the ongoing escalation of conflict does not benefit any party involved. She reiterated China's stance that dialogue and negotiation are the essential pathways to resolving disputes, emphasizing the importance of political and diplomatic solutions. To further these efforts, China plans to send Zhai Jun, its special envoy to the Middle East, to engage directly with regional actors to help de-escalate tensions.

Meanwhile, the conflict has intensified, with Israel and the US conducting a large-scale offensive against Iran, resulting in the deaths of at least 926 individuals, including key figures like Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and top military officials. Iran has responded with drone and missile strikes targeting not only Israel but also Gulf countries housing US military assets.
