ANKARA: China said on Thursday that it sent a new high-orbit internet service satellite into space, state media reported. The satellite, which was launched at 9.14 p.m. Beijing time (1314GMT) aboard a Long March-3B carrier rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwestern Sichuan province, entered its preset orbit "successfully," according to the Xinhua news agency.
