Beijing: China on Monday reiterated its call for the political settlement of the Russia-Ukraine war, noting that diplomacy remains the only option for an end to the conflict. Speaking at a live-streamed news conference held in Beijing, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said that China's position on the Ukraine war is 'consistent and clear.'

According to Anadolu Agency, the spokesman emphasized that China is prepared to collaborate with the international community and maintain a constructive role in resolving the crisis and achieving lasting peace. 'We hope parties will remain committed to the political settlement of the crisis and work together for de-escalation,' he added.

The war in Ukraine has continued since February 2022.
