Ankara: China announced on Sunday the "successful" launch of a new group of low Earth orbit satellites, which are set to form an internet constellation. This development was reported by state media.

According to Anadolu Agency, the satellites were launched from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, located in northern China's Shanxi province. The Beijing-based Xinhua News reported that the satellite group, the fifth of its kind, was launched aboard a modified Long March-6 carrier rocket and successfully entered the preset orbit.

This launch marked the 585th mission of the Long March series carrier rockets, demonstrating China's ongoing advancements in space technology and its commitment to expanding its satellite capabilities.
