Beijing: China on Tuesday announced plans to host a significant military parade in September to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, state news agency Xinhua reported. The event is set to take place in Beijing's Tian'anmen Square on September 3 and will include a display of both traditional military forces and new types of "quality forces."

According to Anadolu Agency, the event is referred to by Beijing as the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. President Xi Jinping is expected to review the troops and deliver a speech during the parade.

Wu Zeke, a senior officer of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission, stated that the parade will include marching formations, armored columns, and aerial echelons. It will showcase new combat forces such as unmanned and intelligent equipment. The domestically produced equipment on display will feature innovations in unmanned intelligence, underwater warfare, network and electronic attack and defense, and hypersonic warfare weaponry.

Wu added that the new generation of traditional weapons and equipment demonstrates the Chinese military's capacity to adapt to advancements in science and technology and its readiness for future conflicts.
