New york: China urged the international community on Tuesday to address the "law of the jungle" practiced by powerful countries amid the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip, expressing its willingness to resolve conflicts through dialogue and cooperation.

According to Anadolu Agency, China's permanent representative to the UN Security Council (UNSC), Fu Cong, emphasized the need for the international community to curb the practice where stronger nations dominate weaker ones. He made these remarks during a council debate focused on "promoting international peace and security through multilateralism and peaceful settlement of disputes."

Fu Cong asserted that using force or imposing sanctions to resolve disputes is often "counterproductive." He advocated for dialogue and cooperation as the most effective means for conflict resolution. Additionally, he expressed Beijing's readiness to collaborate with the international community to address ongoing conflicts, including those in Palestine and Ukraine. Fu underscored the binding nature of Council resolutions, stressing that they must be implemented in "letter and spirit," while respecting each country's sovereignty and integrity.

In the same debate, a South Korean representative highlighted the importance of involving regional countries in settling disputes through diplomacy and "good offices." He advocated for "preventive diplomacy" to engage stakeholders in preventing conflicts and achieving sustainable peace.

Meanwhile, Thailand's representative called for respect for the sovereignty and integrity of all nations, promoting a policy of "non-interference." He voiced support for the UN's efforts in resolving regional and global conflicts.
