China’s Xi Reaffirms Commitment to Taiwan Reunification

Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday reaffirmed Beijing's "unshakeable" commitment to "resolving the Taiwan question."

According to Anadolu Agency, Xi emphasized that resolving the Taiwan question and achieving China's complete reunification is a historic mission and an unshakeable commitment for the Communist Party of China (CPC). Xi made these remarks during a ceremony celebrating the 105th founding anniversary of the party.

Xi, who also serves as the general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, pledged to take decisive actions against secessionists seeking Taiwan independence. He also opposed external interference and aimed to advance national reunification. China regards Taiwan as a "breakaway" province, whereas Taipei maintains its stance on independence.

In addition, Xi highlighted the importance of promoting long-term prosperity and stability in Hong Kong and Macao as crucial for the country's national rejuvenation. He called for efforts to safeguard China's sovereignty, security, and development interests while maintaining absolute party leadership over the people's armed forces.
