Chopper Crash Claims Life of Ground Crew Member in Malaysia

Bentong: A ground crew member was killed following a helicopter incident in Malaysia, as reported by officials. The unfortunate event took place in the town of Bentong, located in Pahang state, involving a Bell 206L4 helicopter.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia stated that the accident occurred at 10.26 a.m. (0226 GMT) during an "aerial work flight." The Air Accident Investigation Bureau will conduct an investigation into the incident. It was confirmed that the pilot of the helicopter is safe.

The helicopter, associated with the Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) electricity company, crashed while attempting to land for refueling near a project site in Bentong. The local fire brigade managed to extinguish the fire that ensued at the scene.

TNB disclosed that the deceased was an employee of the helicopter company and identified the individual as an Indonesian citizen.
