Samut sakhon: Two people lost their lives and five sustained injuries after parts of a construction crane crashed onto a roadway in Samut Sakhon, Thailand, authorities confirmed. The incident took place shortly after 9 am local time on Rama II Road, a critical thoroughfare connecting Bangkok to southern Thailand.

According to Anadolu Agency, the crane collapse followed a similar accident a day earlier in Nakhon Ratchasima province, where a crane fell onto a passenger train, resulting in at least 32 fatalities and injuring 64 others. This recent incident in Samut Sakhon involved crane components from an expressway bridge construction project that fell onto vehicles passing below.

Pol Lt Pirote Pinthip, a traffic inspector at Muang Samut Sakhon police station, stated that both victims were declared dead at the scene, while the injured were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. In response to the accident, police and rescue teams arrived promptly to evaluate the situation. Authorities subsequently secured the crash site and implemented lane closures in both directions to ensure public safety.
