Crewmember Missing After US Navy Helicopter’s Emergency Water Landing in Arabian Sea

Ankara: A US Navy helicopter made an 'emergency water landing' in the Arabian Sea, leaving one crewmember missing, US Naval Forces Command (NAVCENT) said.

According to Anadolu Agency, the incident occurred on July 1 at 3:30 a.m. ET, when the aircrew of an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) conducted the emergency landing. NAVCENT shared this information in a statement on the US social media platform X.

NAVCENT confirmed that the emergency was not caused by hostile action and reported that three of the helicopter's four crew members have been recovered. These members are currently in stable condition aboard the aircraft carrier.

US Navy assets in the region continue to search for the missing aircrew member. NAVCENT has stated that the cause of the incident is under investigation.
