Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos is travelling on Saturday to Luxembourg to participate in the Council of Foreign Affairs (CFA) and Council of General Affairs (CGA) meetings of the EU on June 26th and 27th, respectively. On the sidelines of the CFA, he will also meet with the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell. According to a Foreign Affairs Ministry press release, the discussions at the CFA meetings will focus on the latest developments in Ukraine following the Russian invasion and the assessment of the EU coordinated response. Additionally, Ministers will exchange views on EU-Latin America and Caribbean relations, and adopt conclusions on digital diplomacy. Current affairs, such as the situations in Tunisia and Somalia, as well as recent developments in Armenia-Azerbaijan relations and the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue, will also be key topics of discussion. A separate bilateral meeting between the Foreign Minister and the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, will take place on the sidelines of the CFA. On Tuesday, June 27th, Kombos will participate in the CGA meetings. The agenda for the Council includes the preparation of the upcoming European Council meeting and a review of the European electoral law. Furthermore, Ministers will engage in an informal working lunch with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova, Nicu Popescu. During the Council's proceedings, the Foreign Minister will have a separate meeting with his Moldovan counterpart, Popescu, to discuss matters of mutual interest. Kombos is expected to return to Cyprus on Wednesday, June 28th.
