Cyprus-Greece-Jordan FMs discuss trilateral cooperation, regional developments

Foreign Ministers of Cyprus, Jordan and Greece prepared the 4th Cyprus-Jordan-Greece Trilateral Summit, due to take place in Cyprus, during a meeting on Thursday, in New York. They also discussed trilateral cooperation and the situation in the region. A Foreign Ministry announcement says that Constantinos Kombos attended the trilateral meeting that took place on the sidelines of the 79th General Assembly High-level Week. With Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Greece's FM George Gerapetritis, Kombos exchanged views about the level of cooperation within the trilateral scheme in various fields, such as tourism, and cooperation in combating forest fires. 'The Ministers also prepared the 4th Cyprus-Jordan-Greece Trilateral Summit which is scheduled to take place in Cyprus and took stock of the situation in the region' it is added. Prior to the trilateral meeting, Kombos met bilaterally with his Jordanian counterpart, where they reviewed the excellent bilateral relations and stressed their commitment to further enhance their strategic cooperation. They also discussed the latest worrying developments in the region, with Kombos stressing the 'urgent need for de-escalation and self-restraint.'
