Cyprus Olympic Committee (COC) President George Chrysostomou pledges to keep up working so that COC becomes even stronger and in order to promote sports on the island and the country internationally. Chrysostomou, who was re-elected Head of the Committee on Wednesday evening, noted that they are the ambassadors of Olympism and they promote its virtues and principles. The term of office of the new Executive Council expires in 2028. Chrysostomou was re-elected with 29 votes (76.3%) compared to 9 received by candidate Panagiotis Kontides. Alexandros Christoforou was elected to the position of Vice-President and Yiotis Ioannides, who was Vice-President in the previous Executive Council, was elected to the position of Secretary General.
