Long Dimanche, Deputy Governor of Preah Sihanouk Province, inspected the operation site of Tontoton Company, a private project focusing on collecting plastic waste in the sea to turn into furniture, located in Sangkat 1, Sihanoukville on August 14, 2023.

On that occasion, the Deputy Governor of Sihanoukville praised the innovative ideas of the company that helped clean up plastic bags from the sea, which affects the sanitation environment in Sihanoukville, especially to inspire people to love the environment around them to be beautiful and green to attract national and foreign tourists.

In particular, the community must work together to clean up the environment and not throw garbage into the sea anymore. The Deputy Governor continued that in order to participate in environmental protection, the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administration has always cooperated to support and encourage people to collect bottles as well as all plastic products that are outside the bins outside the landfill and sell them to the company to be processed into furniture for home use.

The Chairman of Tontoton Company stated that Tontoton collects a total of about 200 tons of all kinds of plastic waste every month, and the waste is dumped at the seaside and at sea, the company uses the latest technology to grind all the plastics to make plywood and can be used as furniture in the home.
