Gaza:Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has accused Israel of continuing genocide in Gaza, claiming that the region is being "progressively asphyxiated" and urging international governments to take immediate action.
According to Anadolu Agency, MSF stated that the survival conditions of Gaza's people are being systematically destroyed through sustained violence, the deliberate blockade of essential supplies, and the destruction of healthcare facilities and infrastructure.
The French medical charity emphasized that the "Yellow Line," initially presented as a temporary measure, has now become a more permanent feature, reinforced by military positions, berms, and ongoing demolitions. This line, according to MSF, is increasingly restricting the movement of people in Gaza.
The organization reported that individuals risk being shot by Israeli forces near the Yellow Line, with MSF teams continuing to treat gunfire-related injuries. MSF's head of emergency response in Gaza, Amande Bazerolle, described the line as a mechanism of encirclement and ethnic cleansing, further isolating communities from essential services.
MSF highlighted that violence is not confined to areas around the Yellow Line, citing over 1,200 cases of violent trauma treated in June and July alone. Over the past three years, MSF treated more than 200,000 trauma cases, with Israel's military actions resulting in over 74,000 deaths.
The organization also pointed out that overcrowding and limited access to clean water, sanitation, and healthcare are exacerbating the spread of disease in Gaza. In June and July, MSF treated over 11,000 skin disease cases and 1,500 chickenpox cases. The deterioration of healthcare access has been dramatic, with hospitals running out of basic supplies and patients struggling to obtain necessary medicines and treatments.
MSF noted that restrictions on essential supplies are crippling infrastructure, with generators failing and water-trucking operations being reduced due to a lack of engine oil and spare parts.
The crisis extends beyond Gaza, with increasing incidents of violence, military operations, and home demolitions in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. Bazerolle warned of the long-term impact of Israel's actions, suggesting it will take generations to recover from the harm inflicted over the past three years.
She called on governments to intervene, urging them to stop the destruction and killing, prevent ethnic cleansing, and ensure Palestinians are not denied the means of survival.
