Kuwait city: A drone attack targeted a fuel tank at Kuwait International Airport, causing a fire to break out at the site, the country's civil aviation authority said Wednesday. The incident has raised concerns over the safety and security of key infrastructure in the region amidst escalating hostilities.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, citing spokesman Abdullah al-Rajhi, announced on the US social media company X's platform that initial reports indicated the damage was limited to material losses, with no casualties reported. Authorities acted swiftly, initiating emergency procedures as firefighting teams and agencies were mobilized to contain the blaze.

The attack comes amid heightened tensions as hostilities have escalated following US and Israeli strikes on Iran that began on February 28.
