Drone Attacks Target Multiple Areas in Northern Iraq

Erbil: Multiple drones targeted areas of northern Iraq early Tuesday, with explosions reported across the Kurdistan Region, according to local media. The attacks specifically targeted regions including Erbil, Soran, and Khalifan, as reported by an Erbil-based media outlet.

According to Anadolu Agency, the US-led coalition's air defenses successfully intercepted one drone over Erbil and shot down three others over the border district of Soran near Iran. However, no information is currently available regarding casualties or the extent of the damage caused by these attacks.

In a related incident, on July 17, the northern Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) strongly condemned Iran's repeated attacks on the region. The KRG called on Tehran to immediately halt these strikes, which have targeted camps belonging to Iranian Kurdish opposition groups in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah, as well as a US military base and the US Consulate in Erbil.

Additionally, in a recent attack, eight members of the Komala Revolutionary Toilers' Organization of Iranian Kurdistan were reportedly killed in a missile strike on the group's camp in Sulaymaniyah. Iran has designated this organization as a terrorist group.
