Moscow: Two people were killed after a drone strike set a private home on fire overnight in the Moscow region, Governor Andrei Vorobyov announced Monday. 'Unfortunately, a tragedy occurred in Voskresensk: two people died in a fire in a private home,' Vorobyov said on Telegram, extending condolences to the victims' families.
According to Anadolu Agency, Russian air defense units intercepted four drones over Voskresensk and Kolomna. Several buildings in Voskresensk sustained damage to windows and facades, and street lighting was disrupted due to the incident. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, and Vorobyov emphasized that temporary housing and assistance would be provided to affected residents.
Drone attacks on Russian regions near the capital and border areas have seen an uptick in recent months. Moscow has accused Ukrainian forces of orchestrating these strikes, though Ukraine has not yet responded to these claims.
