Moscow: A drone strike on the Moscow region killed five people and injured six others on Tuesday, according to local authorities.
According to Anadolu Agency, Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov conveyed on Telegram that air defense forces successfully repelled a drone attack earlier in the day. The incident led to significant damage, predominantly in the Chekhov municipal district, where multiple fires were reported within the Novosyolki industrial zone.
Vorobyov confirmed that a large warehouse fire was managed by emergency crews, although an electrical substation and an administrative building were also affected. In the village of Solnyshkovo, debris from the drones damaged a private residence and a vehicle; however, no casualties occurred in that specific area.
The governor also noted that Russian military forces were actively engaging incoming drone targets over various districts, including Volokolamsk, Klin, Chekhov, and Serebryano-Prudsky. Meanwhile, Kyiv has not yet made any formal statement regarding the overnight operation.
