Egypt: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and the Board of Peace envoy Nikolay Mladenov engaged in discussions on Sunday regarding the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the forthcoming steps in the ceasefire plan.

According to Anadolu Agency, during their phone conversation, Abdelatty and Mladenov examined negotiations focused on fulfilling commitments outlined in US President Donald Trump's Gaza plan. An Egyptian Foreign Ministry statement highlighted Abdelatty's emphasis on the importance of adhering to the plan's initial phase. This includes ensuring the complete, safe, and sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, which would be followed by early recovery and reconstruction efforts.

Both parties deliberated on preparations for the following phase. Abdelatty emphasized the necessity for the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza to commence its responsibilities within the enclave. This is crucial for managing the transitional period effectively and maintaining the unity of Palestinian territories. He urged all involved parties to meet their obligations under the plan and to avoid actions that could jeopardize its implementation.

The minister noted that such initiatives would be instrumental in achieving security and stability, thereby facilitating the restoration of stability across the region.

On Friday, the Peace Board, alongside US President Donald Trump, announced an agreement to advance to the next stage of the Gaza ceasefire. The board reported that Hamas had accepted a comprehensive roadmap, although Israel has yet to officially comment on the proposal.
