Riyadh: Foreign embassies in eight Arab countries have faced attacks, closures, and protests amid Iranian strikes launched in retaliation for an ongoing US-Israeli military offensive that began Saturday morning.

According to Anadolu Agency, the developments have been marked in countries including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, and Jordan. The embassies of the United States, Israel, and Canada have been affected, leading to heightened security measures and closures.

In Saudi Arabia, the US Embassy in Riyadh was targeted by two drones, resulting in a limited fire and minor material damage. This prompted the embassy to issue a security alert, urging American citizens to shelter in place. The Canadian embassy in Riyadh also suspended its operations due to regional tensions.

Similarly, the US Embassy in Kuwait announced its closure until further notice, advising American citizens to remain at home. In Jordan, the US Embassy in Amman evacuated all personnel as a precautionary measure against potential security threats.

The US Embassy in Bahrain remains closed indefinitely, warning of possible attacks on hotels in Manama. Likewise, the US Embassy in Beirut extended its closure as tensions rose between Israel and Hezbollah. In the UAE, the Israeli Embassy in Abu Dhabi sustained damage from an Iranian drone attack.

The situation has led to diplomatic protests against Iran. Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, and Jordan have summoned Iranian diplomats to express strong protests against the attacks on their territories. These countries condemned the violations of their sovereignty, declaring their positions against any threats to their security.

The US State Department has issued a series of security alerts, raising travel advisories and urging US citizens to depart from the region. The escalating conflict continues to impact diplomatic relations and the safety of embassies across the affected Arab states.
