London: Turkish striker Enes Unal has completed a permanent transfer from Bournemouth to the Spanish La Liga club Getafe, as announced by the English Premier League side on Thursday. The move marks a return for Unal to the Madrid-based club, where he previously played for four years.

According to Anadolu Agency, Bournemouth released a statement confirming the transfer and expressed gratitude for Unal's contributions during his tenure with the club. The statement highlighted Unal as a popular figure within the squad, acknowledging his positive impact both on and off the field. Bournemouth extended their best wishes to Unal for his future endeavors.

Getafe has announced that Unal signed a three-year contract, extending his stay with the club until June 2029. However, the financial terms of the transfer remain undisclosed, and it is not clear whether the move was a free transfer. Unal's career began with Turkish club Bursaspor in 2013, and he joined Manchester City in 2015. His career has included loan stints with Genk in Belgium and Dutch clubs NAC Breda and Twente, before joining Villarreal in 2017.

Unal's initial tenure with Getafe from 2020 saw him score 36 goals in 109 appearances. His journey continued with a loan to Bournemouth, where he eventually made a permanent move in May 2024 for a reported fee of approximately £13 million ($17.5 million). During his time in the Premier League, Unal netted five goals in 58 appearances for Bournemouth.
