New York:Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan highlighted the significance of unity and cooperation among Turkish and American Muslim communities during a gathering in New York, expressing gratitude to those who traveled from across the United States.

According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan noted that the event, which brought together Turkish citizens residing in the US and members of the broader American Muslim community, was a display of 'brotherhood' beyond national borders, passports, and geography.

Erdogan expressed his pleasure in participating in the gathering, referring to it as a spirit of brotherhood, on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal. He urged that the solidarity shown at the event should lead to ongoing collaboration, suggesting that increased coordination could yield enduring social benefits.

The Turkish President also acknowledged the expanding presence of Turkish, Turkic, and Muslim communities in the US, emphasizing their human resources, professional expertise, and growing institutional capabilities.

He extended his gratitude to Americans who maintain strong connections with Turkey and support the nation against what he described as prejudice and injustice towards the Turkish people. Erdogan expressed appreciation for those who enhance Turkey's international relationships and demonstrate solidarity when needed.

These remarks were made during Erdogan's meeting with members of Turkish and American Muslim communities as part of his official visit to New York for the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
