Erdogan Highlights Trkiye’s Strategic Defense Advancements Amid Regional Conflicts

Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Trkiye is actively working to counter efforts aimed at reshaping the region through ongoing conflicts, while simultaneously advancing its defense industry.

According to Anadolu Agency, President Erdogan addressed the nation following a Cabinet meeting in Ankara, emphasizing that attempts are being made to influence regional developments through conflicts in Gaza, Lebanon, Sudan, and Yemen. He stated that Trkiye is making strides to thwart these efforts while bolstering its achievements over the past 23 years.

Erdogan highlighted Trkiye’s progress in the defense sector, noting that the nation is focused on its long-term objectives amid significant regional and global changes. He described Trkiye as an “island of stability” amidst tensions and reiterated the government’s commitment to its historical responsibilities during these transformative times, avoiding internal conflicts and polemics.

The President also referred to the 573rd anniversary of the Conquest of Istanbul, celebrated by many citizens. He voiced that Istanbul will remain Turkish and Muslim, countering opposition from what he called ‘remnants of Byzantium.’

Moreover, Erdogan mentioned the symbolic significance of Hagia Sophia, which was restored to its historical role as a mosque after 86 years, now echoing with Quran recitations and the call to prayer. He emphasized that Trkiye will continue to foster national unity and progress as a unified nation.
