Erdogan’s Visit to Kuwait Enhances Strategic Partnership Between Nations

Kuwait city: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Kuwait has strengthened the two countries' strategic partnership, the Turkish ambassador to Kuwait said.

According to Anadolu Agency, Tuba Nur Sonmez, the Turkish ambassador, stated that Erdogan's visit to Kuwait signifies a strong declaration of intent to elevate bilateral relations to a higher level.

"This visit, carried out upon the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of Kuwait, has further strengthened the deep-rooted friendship and strategic partnership between Trkiye and Kuwait," Sonmez remarked. She noted that various aspects of bilateral relations were discussed during the meetings, including political, economic, defense, energy, and humanitarian matters.

Sonmez highlighted that particular emphasis was placed on taking concrete steps to increase trade volume, diversify investment projects, and deepen cooperation in the field of technology. She mentioned the signing of four agreements that provide the legal foundation for cooperation between Trkiye and Kuwait in several sectors.

"President Erdogan's gift of Trkiye's domestically produced car, TOGG, to the Amir of Kuwait was not merely a symbolic gesture; it also reflected Trkiye's determination to share its progress in technology and innovation with friendly nations," Sonmez added. She expressed her expectation that the strong bilateral relations would also be reflected in trade volume, emphasizing that the Investment Agreement signed during the visit would create new opportunities for cooperation to attract more investments to Trkiye.

The discussions also addressed regional developments and the humanitarian situation in Gaza. Both sides reaffirmed their shared concern for maintaining a lasting ceasefire and ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid. "Trkiye and Kuwait come together not only on the basis of mutual interests but also around a vision of regional peace, stability, and solidarity, guided by humanitarian sensitivities," Sonmez stated.

The ambassador highlighted the strong interest shown by the Kuwaiti public and media in the visit, demonstrating the depth of the close bonds and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries. "President Erdogan's visit is a concrete manifestation of the joint vision of both leaders to advance our relations further. Our Embassy will continue to work in close cooperation with all our institutions to realize this vision," she concluded.
